Data source
Your store is the only system that knows an order was actually paid, for how much, and in which currency. Attribi receives that order from Shopify directly, ties it to the shopper Attribi already watched arrive, and passes the real total on to every ad platform you run as an offline conversion. No pixel on the checkout page, no nightly CSV, and no estimate standing in for money that was genuinely taken.

Shopify posts every paid order to Attribi as it happens, and the shopper is marked closed-won with the order total and currency exactly as the store recorded them. An order with a missing or non-positive total is skipped rather than uploaded as a guess.
A started checkout marks the shopper as qualified. It deliberately carries no money at all: Shopify sends this event when a checkout begins rather than when it completes, so abandoned carts produce one too, and inventing a value for them would corrupt your revenue reporting.
Each paid order uploads as a closed-won conversion to every ad platform you have connected, with its value and currency attached. That is the point of the connection: your ad reporting is settled against orders your store actually took.
Orders and checkouts are tied to a visitor by the email address on them. An order with no email is skipped rather than attached to the wrong person, which keeps a guessed match from quietly crediting the wrong campaign.
Every order and checkout is recorded once against its own Shopify id, and Attribi claims it before firing anything. If Shopify redelivers the same order, which it does after any hiccup, the repeat is skipped instead of uploading revenue twice.
Attribi asks your store for read access to orders and nothing else, so it can never change an order, a product, or a customer. Shopify no longer lets merchants create their own custom apps, so get in touch and we will connect your store with you. Nothing is needed from a developer on your side.
Your store starts posting paid orders and started checkouts to Attribi, each delivery signed by Shopify so Attribi can verify it really came from your store. Nothing goes into your theme and nothing goes on the checkout page, which Shopify does not allow scripts on anyway.
From the first paid order onward, every order becomes a closed-won conversion on each connected ad account with its real value. Add the Attribi script to your storefront as well and each of those orders also carries the visit history that produced it.

No, and this is worth being precise about. A started checkout marks the shopper as qualified and carries no revenue figure whatsoever; Attribi never estimates one from the cart. Only a paid order carries money, and it carries the total and currency Shopify charged. So mid-funnel activity tells you a shopper got close, and paid orders are the only thing that moves a revenue number.
Yes, if you want to know which ad produced the order. Shopify tells Attribi what was bought and for how much; the script is what records how the shopper arrived, across however many visits it took. Without it you get accurate revenue with no journey attached to it, and the only identifier left for an ad platform to match on is the email address on the order.
Every paid order fires its own conversion with its own value, so each purchase reaches your ad platforms separately. Inside Attribi the shopper record shows the most recent order value rather than a lifetime total, while the per-order history is kept in full. If lifetime value is what you are reporting on, read the order history rather than the shopper record.
No. Attribi records each order against its Shopify order id and claims it before uploading anything, so a redelivery of an order it has already processed is skipped. Shopify redelivers regularly by design, which is why this is handled at the point of receipt rather than left to the ad platforms to sort out.
No. Shopify is a source here, not a destination. Attribi asks for read access to orders only, never write access, and it uploads conversions to your ad platforms rather than to Shopify. If the connection is removed from your store, Attribi flags it and keeps the history it already gathered rather than deleting it.
